George Muller, 19th century preacher and prayer warrior in Bristol, England, paraphrased Psalm 37:23 by stating “The steps—and the stops—of a good man are ordered by the Lord….” In December 2025, I was denied entry for second time into IN (for security reasons, I will use abbreviations)—the world’s most populous nation. It took two attempts to uncover the reason for denied entry (I spoke at a pastors’ conference) and the length of my suspension (“do not try to enter again until 2027”).
The encouraging news is that “the king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD… [H]e turneth it whithersoever [H]e will” (Proverbs 21:1). My denied entry did not take God by surprise. Though some of my American preacher friends are currently in IN ministering as I write, others have also been denied entry. The Lord’s work will continue with or without me or other westerners. Most of our Vision2020Asia leaders have taken up the baton and expanded their ministries and outreaches without us. To the glory of God, they are fulfilling the instructions of 2 Timothy 2:2.
Almost immediately, several opportunities to minister, preach, and teach opened up in other Asian countries.. I’ve had to prayerfully consider and research the people and seminaries where I was invited. At the end of February, I will be traveling to another Asian country where there is an ongoing civil war in order to teach a cohort of pastors and teachers who are working on their doctoral degrees. The Lord willing, I plan to write my February 2026 post from that location.
