FAQ’S1- 2- Are you currently serving on the field or still on deputation? Both. I travel to India at least twice or more annually. I am raising support for myself and the national leaders. It is my vision to create a pipeline of financial, educational and vocational resources from the West to the East for the propagation of the Gospel to these untold millions. When in India I am constantly involved in strengthening the brethren through teaching and preaching, leadership conferences, revival and soul-winning conferences or in whatever way they request. Sometimes, just to be there for encouragement and someone to confide in and pray with. 3- What is your present financial need? Our present monthly need is $3,400. This does not include travel expenses for my trips abroad. 4- Are
you working directly or indirectly toward establishing a local church in your
field of service?
I am establishing centers of
evangelism within India for the training and equipping of the nationals for the
work of the ministry. Our course
of study is very intense and highly evangelistic. We
have a three month prescribed and pre-planned course of study. Anyone
can attend our center upon a national pastor’s recommendation. Our
doctrine is totally Baptist [Biblicist]. Since
church planting is our primary objective, our first graduates have already
started two new churches. The
objective of our course of study is extremely practical.
Even laymen would be greatly benefited.
We are encouraging our graduates who desire to further their studies to do so through
ROGMA unless otherwise led of the Lord. We have a great sense of urgency regarding our calling and mission. 5- What is your conviction concerning the indigenous church principle, do you wish one day to turn your work over to a national or do you wish to remain with this work and pastor? I believe my calling to be that of a missionary/evangelist. I believe developing national leadership is the key. I believe that in most cases no one is better equipped, better educated or better trained to reach their people than a national. They best know the cultures, the mindsets and the languages. They can also do the job for much less than a foreigner. As we obey the Word of God in II Timothy 2:2 & elsewhere we will find much blessing and fruitfulness in our ministries. 6- Do
you practice tithing and mission giving and are you training people to do the
same? Yes.
I believe “the tithe is the Lord’s”.
I believe tithing is just the beginning in a Christian’s life. I
believe God expects us to give Him our all. Giving
of our tithe is simply our recognition that all we possess belongs to God. My wife and I have always tried to go beyond 20% in our giving to the
Lord. We presently give our tithe,
support faith promise missions and our church’s building fund, as well as many
other things that God has enabled us to do.
To God be all of the glory! 7- 8- What
is your view on the neo-evangelical movement? I
have always opposed watering down the true Gospel, II Corinthians 2:17. Since I will only give an account for my ministry, I will let God be the
judge of those who feel it is expedient to compromise ones convictions for the
sake of getting out the Gospel.
I will not compromise my convictions.
9- Would
you co-operate with those in the neo-evangelical movement in a city-wide
campaign? No.
On at least two occasions while preaching in India I refused invitations to
participate in Gospel meetings with those who have watered down or compromised
Biblical teachings.
As graciously as possible, I explained my Biblical convictions and declined their
invitation. I cannot condone what
God condemns. 10- What is your view of the modern tongues movement along with the healing campaigns today, do you believe it is Scriptural? No. I believe the present day charismatic movement to be totally unscriptural. Please see my lecture on this subject on our website at: http://www.vision2020asia.org/information.html. 11- Would you permit our pastor or someone from our church to visit your work on the field at some future date? Yes. I would be delighted for others to go with me on any of my trips abroad. I welcome the opportunity. 12- Do
you have any special need spiritually or physically? Please
pray for my wife, Joanne. Due to
her physical limitations she has been unable to travel abroad. She faithfully supports and encourages me in our ministry. 13- What
do you believe regarding eternal salvation? It
is eternal. John 3:16; 10:27-31;
Philippians 1:6; Hebrews 13:5b and many more verses. 14- What
do you believe about preachers having more than one living wife? [I
Timothy 3:2] It is totally unscriptural.
My wife and I have been married for 34 years as of July 27, 2002. God
has blessed us with 2 living children and 3 grandchildren. 15- What
do you believe about the frequency of weekly services? I
believe we should be getting together more frequently not less frequently,
Hebrews 10:24. 16- Are you ordained? Yes, I was ordained by the Northside Baptist Church in Greenville, SC in May 1973. Immediately following ordination I founded and organized and independent Baptist Church in the coal regions of Pennsylvania. 17- What
